Woolf, Virginia Jacob's Room London Hogarth Press 1922 First Edition Hardcover Good/No Jacket Octavo, 290pp., Moderate soil to exterior. Minor wear to spine label and spine ends. Small worn spot on front joint under spine label. Original orange-yellow cloth with printed paper title label. 290 pages of text and 14 page publisher's catalogue. A few pages have mild yellowing and a few pages were opened roughly. First edition of Woolf's first full length novel to appear under her own imprint. One of just 1200 copies. The author's scarce third novel, concerning the life story of the protagonist Jacob Flanders. The book is a departure from Woolf's earlier two novels, ' The Voyage Out' (1915) and 'Night and Day' (1919), which are more conventional in form. 'Jacob's Room' is seen as an important modernist text; its experimental form viewed as a progression of the innovative writing style Woolf presented in her earlier collection of short fiction entitled 'Monday or Tuesday' (1919).
